All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association has appealed to the Government for appointing adequate teachers at Talui (Tolloi) Higher Secondary Academy and Ukhrul Higher Secondary School and appealed to the authorities concerned to appoint the.
A 12-member team of the Association led by president T Pramodini, vice president M Debendra and general secretary M Joykumar have inspected the existing condition of the said schools on February 9 and found out that the students are facing lots of difficulties in their studies as there are no teachers to teach them.
According to a statement issued by the Association, 264 students are studying in Talui Higher Secondary School but no regular principal has been appointed for the said school.
11 part time lecturers and some graduate teachers are running the school.
The construction of the new building of the school for which the Government had sanctioned Rs 50 lakhs took has also not been completed till today.
Moreover, there is no facilities for quarters of the teachers, hostel for the students, laboratory equipments and library apart from the fact that there is no science teachers at the school.
The condition of Ukhrul Higher Secondary School is no different.
The school which has 275 students are studying is being ran by only 13 teachers including 6 regular lecturers.
