The indefinite hunger strike launched by adhoc employees of 22 different departments under the All Manipur Adhoc Employees Association has completed 22 days today.
A statement issued by the Association informed that fast unto death is being undertaken by nine adhoc employees at Keishampat Junction for the third today among which the condition of some have become critical.
It also warned that any eventuality arising out of the agitation should be borne by the Government.
During the ongoing agitation, 38 adhoc employees including 14 women have been imprisoned by the authority, it mentioned.
Reiterating its demand for regularisation of adhoc employees through a 'special DPC', the Association contended that various adhoc employees of other departments have been regularised through 'special DPC' earlier.
It also appealed to the Chief Minister to keep his words given during the meeting with the representatives of JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO that assured regularisation of adhoc employees within six months.
