Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh has exuded confidence that a major developmental change would be able to bring about in Manipur with proper utilisation of the plan amount released by the Centre from the next 2006-07 fiscal year.
Speaking as chief guest of the 120th anniversary of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (I) at Congress Bhavan here this morning, Ibobi said 70 percent of the total allocated plan amount in the current financial year, 2005-06 would be able to utilise by the end of December and 100 percent by March 2006.As a result, there would not be any problem from the side of the Centre in releasing the Plan amount for the next financial year 2006-07, he said.
The plan amount to be released by the Centre for the next financial year would also been utilised judiciously to bring about a major change in the development of the State, he assured.
MPCC (I) president and Power Minister Gaikhangam who presided over the function predicted that the position of Congress at the Centre as well as in Manipur would be strengthened day by day and called upon the party workers to discharge their duties with sincerely and dedication.
Any sort of difference and misunderstanding should be sorted out within the party and the Congress workers should make a commitment to solidify the position of the party all the more in the upcoming election of the local bodies, he exhorted.
