K pledges to protect Zeliangrong identity

Imphal, February 25: Pledging to protect the integrity and identity of the Zeliangrong people, a spokesman of the Zeliangrong region of NSCN (K) today informed the media that it will meet any challenges posed to the unity of the Zeliangrong people.

The spokesman said that the NSCN (K) has received reports that some elements are hell bent on dividing the Zeliangrong people into Zeme, Rongmei and Liangmei and added that meetings in this connection have also been convened.

Striking a firm tone, the spokesman said such ploys should be stopped immediately and added that if the warning is not heeded, then NSCN (K) will take up appropriate action.

All the Zeliangrong people who are settled in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland are one and any attempt to break this identity will be firmly met by the NSCN (K), he added.

Fitting punishment will be given to anyone trying to sow the seeds of disunity.
