Imphal, April 26 2010:
NISA players who were to leave Imphal for Bangalore to participate in the final round of ONGC 2nd Division League have cancelled their trip today due to cancellation of their flight of Jetlite due to technical problems.
The team were to leave Imphal on a flight of Jetlife at 2:05 pm from Tulihal Airport, Imphal to Kolkata.
After that they were to continue their journey to Bangalore on train.
However, when they reached the airport, officials of Jetlite informed them that their flight will be delayed till 3:30 pm.
But to their disappointment, officials once again inform them that their flight will be cancelled due to some technical problem.
Their were commotions at the airport when the officials informed the NISA team and other passengers who were to go to Kolkata on that flight.
But situation became normal later.
After much talk with the officials of Jetlite, the NISA team were provided tomorrow's ticket.
Now the team will leave Imphal at 2.05 pm tomorrow.
Earlier in the morning at NISA Complex, situated at the foothill of Cheiraoching, Thangmeiband Sinam Leikai, Youth Affairs and Sports Minister, N Biren flagged off the NISA team for the final round of the ONGC 2nd Division League.
Biren inspired the players of NISA to work hard to succeed in the final round and enter into the I league first division.
He also donated a sum of Rs 20,000 to the team.
President, NISA Jaykishan and other officials also attended the flage off ceremony.
N Jimmy will be the team captain of the NISA team.
Other players are S Basanta, L Ashok, T Ajitkumar, W Daniel, S Thomas, N Rajesh, K Sanjip, S Manimohon, L Ibotomba, Th Santosh, M Bidyasagar, L Nabachandra, P Somendro, Ksh Malemnganba and L Devan.
L Lakshmichand and Dr Maibam Romi will accompany the team as team coach and team manager respectively.
