Meanwhile, expressing strong resentment over the adamant attitude of the Chief Minister in the demand for in toto implementation of the revised six pay bands effective from January 2006, the Council of Teachers' Association (COTA) has called a meeting of all teachers of government primary, high and higher secondary school on April 30 to discuss on future course of action of the COTA to be followed the ongoing series of sit-in protest.
The resolution to convened a joint meeting of all teachers of government school was taken in a meeting of COTA held at Keishampat Junction today, said a statement of the association signed by its general secretary, M Joykumar.
The meeting took a resolution to condemn the statement given by the Chief Minister hurting the sentiment of the employees in total contrast to the address he had given in a public meeting held at Tuibong of Churachandpur and assurance given to general secretary of the Bharat Employees Union, K Ballasubramanium who recently visited Imphal.
It is not a right step of the government to remain adamant even though the recommendation of the Sixth Pay Commission has been implemented to at least 20 states of the country.
