After ban on strike by employees of health services, government has also imposed the same prohibition to the employees of the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) and Power (Electricity) Department.
An order regarding the prohibition was issued today by an order of the deputy secretary (home) of state home department, Th Amalkumar citing that it has been issued as government has apprehension joining the employees of this two department the cease work strike.
The order of the government issued in exercise of the powers conferred under section 3(1) of the Manipur Essential Services Maintenance Act 1984 prohibited the cease work strike launched by the employees of PHED and electricity department.
The indefinite cease work strike of the JAC of the AMTUC and AMGEO would dislocate the �essential services� as outlined under section 2(a)(ii) and (iv) of the Manipur Essential Services Maintenance Act 1984 and connected with the production, storage, supply or distribution of water and production, supply or distribution of power, thereby posing serious hazards to health and endangering the life of the public.
