Under the joint aegis of HQs IGAR (S) and 26 Sector Assam Rifles, a medical camp was organised by 29 Assam Rifles at St Peter High School in Tengnoupal sub-division of Chandel district today during which over 800 villagers availed free treatment and distribution of medicines.
Commander of 26 Sector, Brig SK Bhanot inaugurating the medical camp as chief guest assured people of the sub-division all possible assistance from the Assam Rifles.
he called upon the people, especially the youth to come forward and intimate any hardships such as absence of medical care or water so that the problem could be solved through mutual cooperation between the people and the Assam Rifles.
The Commander also conveyed gratitude to people of Tengnoupal sub-division for their continuous support and cooperation to the Assam Rifles.
Cultural programmes by members of Khangnou Lom Cultural Troupe were also staged during the opening ceremony of medical camp, organised to commemorate 175 raising anniversary of the Assam Rifles.
The medical was held under the supervision of a dental specialist, a specialist on medicine and lady doctor, added an AR release.
Moreover, a centre for information on recruitment in the Assam Rifles and Army was also opened at the occasion.
On the other hand, 12 Assam Rifles also reportedly organised a free medical, dental cum eye camp at Kamjong of Ukhrul district today.
In another occasion, 26 Sector Assam Rifles Commander Brig SK Bhanot inaugurated a medical camp at Tengnoupal today, said a press release of PRO Hqs IGAR (S).
