A senior journalist of Nagaland Monalisa Changkija has been named by The Media Foundation, New Delhi for the 2009 Chameli Devi Jain Award.
"The Media Foundations is pleased to announce that the 2009 Chameli Devi Jain Award for an Outstanding Woman Mediaperson will be shared by Shoma Chaudhury, Executive Editor, Tehelka, Delhi and Monalisa Changkija, Editor, Nagaland Page, Dimapur," said a press comminuque issued by chairman of The Media Foundation Boobli George Verghese.
The press note said that the jury that made the selection consisted of Madhu Jain, columnist and author, Bhaskar Ghose, former Director-General Doordarshan and Secretary, Ministry of I&B, and Professor Dipankar Gupta, formerly with JNU and now Senior Fellow at the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library.
Nominations were received from all parts of the country, it added.
The presentation will be made on Wednesday, March 17, at the IIC Auditorium at 6 p.m and will be followed by a Panel Discussion on "The Influence of Public Relations on Journalism" with Vinod Mehta, Editor, Outlook, Pankaj Pachauri, Editor, NDTV-India and Dilip Cherian of Perfect Relations and will be moderated by Paranjoy Guha-Thakurta, well known journalist and commentator, said the press communique.
