In pursuit of their demand for a thorough enquiry by an independent body like the CBI into the shooting incident of Advocate General N Koteshwar by Works Minister K Ranjit accidentally, All Manipur Bar Assn (AMBA) and the High Court Bar Association (HCBA) have decided to file a complaint at Gauhati High Court .
This was stated by senior Advocate RK Nokulsana, chairman of the joint monitoring committee constituted jointly by AMBA and HCBA in connection with the shooting of the AG.
Speaking to reporters at Cheirap Court complex here this afternoon, Nokulsana said a joint meeting of AMBA and HCBA was held last night during which a resolution was adopted towards this end.
It also decided to authorise an individual to lodge formal complaint with the relevant authority.
The committee is announcing its activities to the public in response to the appeal of 45 lawyers and an organisation to make public actions planned or taken up by the committee in connection with the shooting incident, Nokulsana said.
On being asked about the Chief Minister�s statement given in the State Assembly, the Senior Advocate said that the Chief Minister�s statement can serve as an evidence.
