All the 12 striking employees of the JN Hospital, in support of the government employees strike demanding revised sixth pay, released late today following reaching an agreement on the merger of all the employees to Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences (JNIMS).
The cease works strike of the of the employees of the JN Hospital in support of the cease work strike of the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO suspended with immediate effect today after an agreement was reached between the striking employees of the hospital with the government.
The decision to suspend the strike was taken in a general meeting of the JN Hospital, Non-gazzetted Staff Welfare Association held today at the conference hall of the hospital administration.
The meeting was convened under the chair of the vice-chairman of the association Th Mangi.
The meeting resolved to withdraw of the cease work strike of the hospital in support of the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO.
It also decided to withdraw affiliation of the association to the JAC.
Four resolutions were drafted in the meeting which include suspension of cease work strike by withdrawing affiliation of the association to the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO taking into account to the process of transfer of JN Hospital under the management of JNIMS which is under process as per an order of the JNIMS issued on January 16 last.
The members also resolved that in the event of resumption of the strike without any proper reason, all the members will accept any action taken against them by the authority and to request release of 12 members in the custody of Imphal east district police.
The resolutions drafted in the meeting will be submitted to the Chief Minister, O Ibobi.
On the other hand superintendent of the hospital, Dr S Ibomcha said that employees of the hospital joined the strike without having the knowledge of the process behind the transfer of the hospital to JNIMS.
"Now they have to know and understand the process taken up by the authority and returned to their duty," Ibomcha said.
Meanwhile, secretary of the association Kh Biren said they have decided to suspend the strike considering the ongoing process of transfer of hospital to JNIMS.
