Sessions of three faculties of National Institute of Technology (NIT) will be started from August this year, said state education minister, L Jayentakumar today speaking on the occasion of inauguration of OBC boys and girls hostel at DM College of Commerce.
The minister, speaking as guest of honour of the inauguration function said that in all works for the development of infrastructures of education sector, there is reservation for the OBCs too.
That is why the separate hostels for OBC boys and girls are being constructed in the college.
Saying that some persons criticize with lack of the co-ordination among government departments, the minister said, it was not true, has been proof by construction of OBC Hostel by state minorities and OBC department in the college run by the state education department.
Even though the hostels are inaugurated today, some of the components for running the hostel are yet to complete.
Authority of the higher education will takes up works to complete the unfinished components, he added.
The minister further talking on the occasion expressed concerned over the degrading quality of education in the state blaming long gone mistakes in the education policy of the state.
Due to various mistakes in the steps taken up by the previous government, the present state of education state comes up.
It will take some time to rectify the mistaken step, he said.
Minister for minorities and OBC, Md Allauddin who attended the function as chief guest said that the hostel inaugurated today is constructed with the funds availed from the union ministry of social justice and empowerment with additional funds the state government.
MOBC department has planned to construct hostels of such types in other colleges too, informed the minister appealing the people to cooperate with the government in timely completion of developmental works in the state.
Principal of Ideal Girls� College, Dr N Ashalata also attended the function presided over by principal of the DM College of Commerce, Ng Brajakumar.
