Imphal, March 07, 2010:
A six member team of the Rhythms of Manipur returned home after a successful programme of fusion music with Assamese musicians at Guwahati held on March 4. The Rhythms' team collaborated with the musicians of the Assam Cultural Academy, Maligaon, Guwahati.
The combined team worked on a fusion programme using Assamese and Manipuri traditional musical instruments including Pena, Langthe, Sanantara, Pennao (developed from Pena), Bashi of Manipur, Pepa, Bihu Dhol, Tal, Gogona, Hanshabin of Assam.
It may be noted here that the Rhythms of Manipur had successfully presented a new fusion composition entitled Journey at Rupmahal Theatre auditorium here on February 2 last.
