A six year old boy died today after falling into a 15 feet water reservoir inside the Tribal market complex, construction work of which is currently underway at New Lambulane in Imphal East district.
The incident infuriated the locals who ransacked a makeshift shed built for construction workers.

As the father, a personnel of the Assam Rifles, is staying at his place of posting in Nagaland along with his wife, Paugoulin was living with his grandmother, said family sources.
As the local people went on the rampage and began to dismantle the workers' shed, a police team arrived at the spot and tried to mollify the agitated the people but failed owing to the infuriated mob outnumbering them.
Later additional police reinforcement arrived and controlled the situation.
Including compensation to the bereaved family, the locals demanded that the construction work be completed within a month.
