The village chief's clan of Lemta (Reinboluta) village under Tamei subdivision in Tamenglong district has restricted the entry of L Elow Mao (30), son of N Losii of Punanamei village, a timber merchant, to the village land of Lemta village for allegedly attempting the life of Hingkuilakbou, son of Karangkampi Chawang, land owner of Lemta village, on August 26, according to a statement issued by Karangkampi and Tamrilakbou, chiefs of Lemta village, Tamenglong district.
The statement alleged that Hingkulakbo was physically tortured and his life was attempted on August 26 by Elow Mao and his 'gang' after he was called out from the residence of Hatanlakbou Poutmei at Senapati headquarters.
The village chief's son of Lemta was later released the next day around 1pm through another person.
It also held that Elow will bear the sole responsibility if anything happens to Hingulakubou due to the hurt caused by the assault.
