Imphal, September 24:
A suspected PLA cadre was killed in an encounter with a joint State and paramilitary force personnel at Bishnupur district while imphal West commandos arrested three KCP activists from different places during the last 24 hours.
according to police source, a combined force of bishnupur police commando and 5/8 Gorkha Rifles personnel were fired upon by suspected militants when the security team were heading towards Toubul Mamang Leikai located east of Bishnupur police station this morning.
In the nearly 30 minute shoot-out the suspected PLA cadre was found shot dead.
Search later led to the recovery of a Chinese made hand grenade.
The combined force is informed to have rushed towards Toubul area based on specific information of presence of RPF/PLA activists preparing for the outfit's raising day tomorrow.
The security team also launched search operations in and around toubul village after arrival of reinforcement.
there is no report of arrest.
The deceased person with multiple bullet wounds is said to be around five feet in height, fair complexioned, with a bangle on his right wrist inscribed �ILU'.
The body has been deposited at RIMS mortuary.
One of the three KCP activist was arrested yesterday morning from near Keishampat Power House by a frisking party.
The arrested person has been identified as Mutum Yaiskul Singh alias Yaima (49) s/o Y Tomalmacha of Lamlai Mayai Leikai.
two other activists of the outfit named as Leithangbam Rigan Meitei (24) s/o L Bihari Meitei of Chingnunkhok Mamang Leikai and Sanabam Ranjit Meitei alias Anand (24) s/o S Rabango of Wabagai Mayai leikai were arrested from Konjeng Leikai Club bazar by a commando team at around 6.30 am today, said a police statement.
