Imphal, September 24: At least three persons were killed and many others sustained injuries when the truck they were travelling in met with an accident a Torbung Bangla, 10 kms off Churachandpur Bazar this morning at around 11:30.The victims were a search party who had gone to search for a missing man identified as Maisnam Romio (24) The deceased have been identified as Maisnam Iboyaima (56), Haojam Tomba (25) s/o Haojam Matum and Thoudam Lukhoi (55) s/o late Th Ibomcha, all residents of Khoijuman.

Iboyaima died at the spot while Tomba and Lukhoi passed away enroute to RIMS Hospital.

M Iboyai is the father of the missing youth, while Memdon, who is among those injured is the mother.

At first, all the injured persons were taken to Churachandpur District Hospital for treatment.

But many of the them were referred to RIMS Hospital here. Around 35 of them were brought to RIMS at around 3.30 pm today.

They are identified as M Thoibi (40), Kh Ajit (23), H Kumar (50), W Purnima (53), Ak Doren (38), Kh Thoimubi (45), A Priyobarta (32), S Khomei (50), Th Bino (50), Ch Leihao (50), L Babu (19), H Ibemcha (27), H Shantibala (25), L Nanao Singh (28), W Shyamo (25), M Bikram (23), Kh Gojen (33), Sh Mema (60), M Ibopishak (46), M Kumar (45), Ng Tomba (29), Sh Anand (25), L Momocha (28), O Prasuram (21), M Kunjarani (40), M Memdon (40), M Tombi Devi (20), W Sana Devi (24), M Shanti Devi (35), all from Koijuman and one N Tombi Devi (58) of Toubul.
