A new education policy coming up in the state soon will be a challenging task to the society, said education minister, L Jayentakumar today speaking as chief guest at the 53rd foundation day of the SDJM Higher Secondary School held at GM Hall today.
The foundation day celebration held at GM hall was presided over by former minister, Dr M Nara who is the chairman of the advisory board of the school.
Secretary of the Council of Higher Secondary, Dr Hamom Nabachandra attended as guest of honour.
Society keeps changing in course of time.
To suit with the changing times, changes in the education system is a must, the minister said informing that a new education policy is soon coming up in the state and the new education policy will be indeed a challenging task for the society.
At present, under the Right to Education Act which is in force in the state too, parents and guardians can go to court and lodged a complaint that his or her son or daughter has been deprived of the right to education.
However, the Act is yet to implement fully in the state, Jayentakumar added.
He observed that the present violence of killings, crime, torture, etc.
as the acts of moraly corrupt people.
The youth of today lacks morals as a result of imperfect teaching of moral lessons when they were student.
In order to avoid activities harmful to society, it is a must to rectify the present education system with the need to impart community education with moral lessons, the chief guest said.
Speaking as guest of honour of the function, secretary of the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Dr Hamom Nabachandra stressed the need for higher secondary teachers, to participate in workshops organised by the council related with teaching methods.
