The nineteen government secondary part-time lecturers have complained to the government that they have been put into part time service with a merged remuneration for long.
In a press release Kakching Higher Secondary School part-time lecturers explained that their initial pay was Rs.1000 per month, this was increased to Rs.4000 per month and after an agitation in which theyeven spent nights in jail, it was raised to the present pay of Rs.4500 .
They stated that 99 percent of the part-time lecturers have crossed the age bar to enter into new government jobs.
They claimed that they have been dedicating into their lives to teach students with the believe that the government would look into their plight and consider for regularisation of their post and increase their wages however they lamented that till date the government has failed to address their grievances.
They explained their hardship in running a family and paying for their children's education with only Rs.4500 salary a month which is only 1/8th of the amount a regular secondary lecturer gets.
They also mentioned that the merged amount of remuneration which they get from the government as par-time lecturers has not been paid for the last 10 months rendering their lives miserable.
They have drawn the attention of the government for an early redressal of their plea for early regularisation and higher wages.
They also said that they are all set to launch an agitation to press their demands.
