Imphal, July 17 2010:
A joint meeting of the representatives of passenger carrier auto-rickshaws, light motor vehicles and heavy vehicles was held under the aegis of the UCM at its Lamphel office today.
After deliberating minutely on the issue of fare hike, all the parties agreed on charging travel fares with an increment of 35 per cent calculated from the rates prevalent before hike in prices of fuel oils and other goods, conveyed a UCM release.
The new rates would come into effect from July 19 and the same would be applicable until fuel oils are available through open sale at normal rates, the release added.
