Strongly reacting to the allegation that a candidate who had failed in the written test for appointment of primary teachers has been included in the list of passed candidates in the result, the candidate in question today clarified that she had passed the written test.
The candidate in question, Tongbram Bedamani of Thanga Tongbram Leikai today said that she appeared in the written test under roll no.39058 and she had passed the exam.
Thus her roll number and name were in the result declared by the Board of Secondary Education later as corrigendum to the result.
Mention may be made that a news report published in an Imphal-based vernacular daily in its July 16 issue had alleged that a candidate who failed in the written test conducted by the Board of Secondary Education was found included in the list of the DPC results published by the Hueiyen Lanpao recently.
Reiterating that he cleared the written test, Bedamani told reporters today that he will go to court for legal action against the particular newspaper for defaming him if the media house clarified the matter at the earliest.
His revelation came after a member of the PDC board conducting the viva-voce, Hareshwor Goswami challenged that if any of the written test failed candidate be found included in the DPC result, she will tendered resignation from his office at the moment it was confirmed true.
In the interaction with reporters at MDU hall today, Bedamani said that he appeared the written test conducted on December 22, 2006 under roll no.39058.His roll no.was not included in the result declared on April 16, 2007 .
Later with doubt to the result, he lodged complaint with the authority of the board.
Later, after three days from the date of declaration of the result, the board issued a corrigendum notice signed by its secretary, L Rajmohon on April 19 clarifying that that the roll no.39057 included among the pass roll no.should be 39058 adding that roll no.39057 was failed in the exam.
With the issuance of the corrigendum, he took part in the viva-voce, Bedamani said adding that he has been defamed by the newspaper by publishing a false report.
If the newspaper concern clarified the matter, he will take legal help for justice.
Taking part in the briefing to the reporters, president of the Association of DPC Successful Candidate for Primary Teachers 2006, MS Rehman said it is unfortunate thing to publish a wrong report without verifying before publishing the report.
Terming the DPC result published a newspaper recently as a true and authentic one, he also demanded the state authority to issue appointment orders immediately to the successful candidates.
