Imphal, February 18:
The Guahati High Court has today upheld its earlier interim verdict that maintained that both the State department and the NGO should utilize funds equally for taking up the Integrated Watershed Development Project (IWDP) at Jiribam subdivision.
According to the guidelines of such projects, every IWDP should be done by NGO and Govt Dept with equal share, said advocate Ch Joychandra, who appeared in favor of an NGO namely United Development Agency.
The IWDP is being funded by the Ministry of Rural Development, the counsel said adding that the State had already dispatched the names of five dists as priority list for implementing the project.
Jiribam in Imphal East Dist is also one of them, he added.
