Pensioners serve ultimatum

Imphal, January 15 2010:
The Manipur State Pensioners' Union has threatened to resume its relaxed stir from January 27 in case the government fails to come out with necessary orders regarding the six-point demands of the union before January 26 .
According to the ultimatum submitted to the Chief Minister, O Ibobi, the pensioners' union has been demanding payment of DR Arrear of 174 months, payment of arrear of 44 months Dearness Pension, payment of 7% DR with effect from July 1, 2008, payment of 10% DR with effect from January 1, 2009, 5% DR wef 1/7/2009 and implementation of 'Accepted Recommendation of the 6th Central Pay Commission in toto to the pensioners/families of pensioners.
