Former state minister, Francis Ngajokpa today, terming national highway-39 as only place which bring unity among the people of the state, appealed to all concerns not to use the national highways as tools to achieve certain demands by imposing blockade and other forms of agitations on them.
The former minister made this appeal while speaking as chief guest of a function held in connection with the conclusion of the 28th MKS Trophy-2010 at N Raishung ground at Maram Bazar in Senapati district today.
Francis said the national highway-39 passing through the state is the only place where all sections of the people settling in the state use to travel from a place to the other and where one community can extend co-operation to others.

Difficulties and inconveniences on the highway at some point of time is natural and corrective measures can be taken.
But, unnatural blocking of the highways should not be allowed.
From state government side, Chief Minister had already assured of improving the highway at the earliest.
It will surely translate into action, he hoped, adding that instead of disturbing the stretch, efforts should be made to develop the same.
He also urged the gathering to prevent any kinds of looting incident on this highway.
Coming to the education scenario in the state, Francis Ngakjokpa said that at any cost, organisations should not indulge in the forms of agitation which will disturb the normal academic calendar of the students.
Education is the tool for bringing peace and development in the region.
Only when children of today are well educated, brighter the future will be, he added.
On the occasion, Francis unveiled the memorial of the silver jubilee of the MKS.
The former minister also donated Rs 50,000 to the organizers as monetary assistance.
Meanwhile, in the final match of the MKS Trophy 2010, Sa Gongbam clashed with Katomai.
The former won the match 2-0 .
