Imphal, January 15 2010:
The JAC Against the Brutal Killing of Smt Thokchom Rabina Devi today said that the recent controversy erupted between the JAC and father in-law of deceased Rabina when the JAC tried to deposit under fix deposit scheme of bank for 20 year in the name of only two and half year old son Russel.
A statement of the JAC signed by its president L Premila revealed that the amount was kept in the custody of the MLA only for a day as the money was given was a Sunday.
The father in-law of Rabina, Thamu himself handed over the cash to the local MLA.
The cash was also received from the government by Thamu himself.
He had openly cheated people by telling lie that he does not know about the cash.
On that day, it was also agreed to deposit the amount under fix deposit scheme of the bank in the name of the minor child left by her mother.
But, Thamu alone without any other member of the JAC went to the house of the MLA and insisted on payment of the money to him.
Dragging the name of the MLA in the matter he is not related, that too by the JAC and family of deceased Rabina is an unfortunate one.
Members of JAC along with husband of Rabina, Chinglensa had taken out the money from the MLA and deposited in the bank as fix deposit in the name of Russel for 20 years yesterday (January 13), the JAC statement informed adding that in future except Chinglensa, no other can claim the amount.
