Thrilling mock battle show, enthralling band display and other entertainment items mesmerised a capacity crowd, mostly school children, at Army Day celebration held at Koirengei Old Airfield today.
"I came with my teacher guides to witness the event, and I enjoyed the whole programme which were very exciting and inspiring", said M Rahul, a Class IX student.
The main attraction of the programme organised by 57 Mountain Division was the mock battle show, presented by troops of 12 Maratha Light Infantry.
The show which kicked off with a loud explosion left hundreds of audience spellbound.

It depicted how a patrol team retaliates and neutralises enemies when they are under heavy gun attack.
"I was thrilled witnessing firing of assault rifles and machine guns in real", said Radhakanta Sharma, an NCC cadet.
A dog show presented by the dog squad of the 57 Mountain Division relished the audience with their talents.
Khukri dance of 4/8 Gorkha Rifles was another very entertaining item which inspired the gathering to be physically fit.
Later, girls of Kendriya Vidyalaya, Leimakhong propagated the sense of 'unity in diversity' to the gathering with their dance item performed to the tunes of Jai Ho.
Speaking on the sidelines of the colourful programme, 57 Mountain Division GOC Maj Gen DS Hooda disclosed that yesterday's Loktak operation was just a routine 'activity' which would be carried out from time to time according to the need.
"Army has been trying to bring normalcy and stability in the State so that development and peace can prevail", the GOC added.
The GOC also had a look at the sophisticated weapons displayed as part of grand event.
He also interacted with school children and teachers.
The organisers showcased different war weapons to demonstrate to the visitors.
Free medical check-up stalls and CSD canteen facility were also opened for the visitors.
