Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras would be installed at all important locations including the Raj Bhawan, the Chief Minister's residence and jails.
A decision to this effect was adopted today during a high level meeting presided by the Chief Minister.
The meeting was also attended by engineers of the Bangalore based M/S Meltronics System Tech Private Limited.
The number of CCTVs and the exact spots where they would be installed would be decided tomorrow in consultation with the Principal Secretary (Finance), conveyed a reliable source.
A power point presentation was also made by the IT Department in collaboration with engineers of the M/S Meltronics System Tech Private Limited during the meeting today.
It is being proposed to procure 155 CCTVs under a project of Rs eight crores.
These cameras would be installed at different places of Imphal including Paona Keithel, Thangal Keithel, Alu Gali, Raj Bhavan, Chief Minister's residence, jails etc, added the source.
