Imphal, August 20 2010:
Even as the villages under Kasom Khullen Sub-division are bearing the brunt of Government's apathy, World Vision has rushed in their rescue and taken up some developmental works.
According to a press release issued by Kasom Khullen Sub-Division Development Association (KKSDDA) Chairman, most of the developmental works like IVR construction, water tanks construction, water supply projects, cattle rearing, piggery and poultry etc are being taken up by World Vision.
Highlighting the woes of a village called Itham, the press release said that a narrow 35-km foot track connects the village with Kasom Khullen headquarters.
There is no health care facility in the interior village and power supply connection is still a distant dream for the village, the press release added.
Like Itham, Pohoram and Chingshou villages have no proper road connectivity, health care facility and power supply, KKSDDA informed.
It further said that no State Government official has ever visited these villages and children are still awaiting for their first drops of Pulse Polio Immunization (PPI).
KKSDDA while expressing thanks for taking up the much needed developmental activities in the Sub-division urged the State Government to address the grievances of the people.
