Imphal, August 20 2010:
The villagers of Kasom Khullen sub-division have been made to feel totally alienated from the mainland state by the accumulated failures of the state government to meet the basic requirements of the villagers, said Jojo Robertson, Chairman of Kasom Khullen Sub-Division Development Association (KKSDDA), Ukhrul district, Manipur.
In a press release issued today, Jojo Robertson said that as the reports given by the villagers, most of the development works being taken up in the entire sub-division like Inter Village Road (IVR) construction, house construction, construction of water tanks and other projects like water supply, cattle rearing, piggery, poultry, etc.
are under the sponsorship of World Vision, Ukhrul Area Development Project (UADP).
Most of the mosquito nets use by the villagers i given by the World Vision.
Besides, workshop, seminar, free medical camp, free health check-up, etc.
being taken up in the sub-division are sponsored by World Vision.
It has come to light during an eventful visit by the Executive Committee of KKSDDA on July 23 and 24 last and on August 14 to 17 last, the Chairman of the Association said.
Interestingly, the Itham village under Kasom Khullen block has deprived the facilities of various development programmes from the government since many year.
It has a foot path to reach Kasom Khullen H/Q.It is 35 kms from Kasom Khullen.
Its nearest PHC is at Kasom Khullen H.Q.Power supply has been totally cut off since 15 years back.
No lineman is not seen throughout the year.
Like as Itham Village, Pohoram and Chingshou Village has no proper road connectivity to reach Kasom Khullen, no health care facilities, no power supply since its inception.
Till today, their dreams is too far from the State Government.
No record of Govt.Official visited to these villaegs.
Children of these village are still awaiting the Pulse Polio Immunization (PPI) program.
As neglected by the state government, 18 houses of Itham Village were constructed by the World Vision.
Drinking water being enjoyed by the Village is also taken up under the project of World Vision.
Therefore, may I appeal and draw the attention of the Govt.to take up remedial measures to redress the public grievances.
We express our gratitude to World Vision, UADP for bringing development and their services in the Sub-Division.
