RIMS will receive a mortuary van to be donated by the Rotary Club of Imphal on its 20th foundation to be celebrated tomorrow, said superintendent of RIMS, Dr Y Mohen today speaking on the sideline of handing over of food items to a children home.
Food and vegetables were donated today to Children Home at Tera Keithel by RIMS superintendent Dr Y Mohen as a mark remembrance of her late father Y Bheigo.
Dr Mohen handed over 100 kg of local rice, 20 kg of cabbage and cauliflower, four kg of Rajma dal, two kg of dal, one litre of eatable oil, one kg of pea etc.
to the children home through Ayekpam Tomba, who has been included among the recipients of Padma Shree announced on Republic Day 2010, running the home homed to 50 orphan children Speaking on the sideline of the programme, Dr Mohen said a mortuary van will be donated to RIMS by the Rotary Club of Imphal on the occasion of celebration of 20th foundation day of the club at the conference hall of the club office tomorrow.
A deed regarding the donation of the mortuary van costing Rs 5, 29,951, a product of Tata Company, the superintendent added.
Rotary Club noting the problems facing by family of deceased in transportation of the dead body from the RIMS morgue approached the RIMS authority to donate the van.
The van will benefited to the poor section of the society in carrying dead bodies to their respective home after postmortem at RIMS morgue.
The mortuary van will benefited the poor people could not effort money to hire vehicle to transport dead body, Dr Mohen said.
