Imphal, November 25 2010:
Monthly pensions of Rs.200 were distributed to each of 17 disabled persons (LD-Locomotor disabled, blind and downsyndrome) on the occasion of inauguration of Irengbam Ragini Disabled Foundation, Lamsang Khunou, Imphal West at a function held at Manipur Press Club, Majorkhul here today.
MLA of Lamshang A/C, W Brajabidhu, Dr Irengbam Mohendra Singh, MBBS, MD, MRCGP(London), FICA,FRSH, Mrs Margaret Leah Robson Singh and Neil Andrew Irengbam were president, chief guests and guest of honour respectively at the inaugural cum pension distribution function.
Irengbam Lukhoi, president of Sanamahi Temple Board, Haying Khongban, 1st MR campus was the special guest at the function.

Traditional stone disease healer and philanthropist Laishram Nabakishore, Padmashree Awardee is the donor of the pensions.
It may be recalled here that Laishram Nabakishore has been giving monthly pensions to several hundreds of widows and physically challenged persons of Manipur since many years.
Irengbam Ragini Disabled Foundation has been established by Irengbam ongbi Sapam Geeta, a well-known columnist and social activist and her husband I Ragen, a photo journalist and film-maker.
Ragini is the name of their daughter.
Today's chief guests Dr I Mohendra Singh, who originally hailed from Uripok, Imphal has been living in the United Kingdom for the past over 50 years with his wife Margaret Leah Robson Singh, son Neil Andrew Irengbam and daughter Anita.
Dr I Mohendra Singh is the author of "The Origin of Meiteis of Manipur and Meiteilon is not a Tibeto-Burman Language," "My Search for God" and "Quest for Religion." The first book was released in Imphal on November 22 by Minister of IPR, Tourism & PHED, TN Haokip.
