NRM brings happy tidings for the physically challenged persons

Imphal, November 25 2010:
Monthly pension amount of Rs 200 each were distributed to 17 physically challenged persons at a simple but impressive function hosted by Irengbam Ragini Disabled Foundation, Lamdeng khunou at Manipur Press Club today.
The pension amount is donated by noted healer and Padmashree awardee Laishram Nabakishore Singh.
The pension distribution programme was held with London-based State native dr Irengbam Mohendro Singh and Lamshang AC MLA W Brajabidhu Singh as the chief guest and president respectively.

Dr Mohendro's better half Margaret Leah Robson Singh, their son Neil Andrew Irengbam and Laishram Nabakishore were also present as the guests of honour.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Mohendro assured that after his return to london he would explore all possible means to personally contribute to the humane cause.
He also called upon all concerned to provide support to the physically challenged persons.
In his address, MLA Brajabidhu stressed on the need to consult doctors on a regular basis so as to minimise possibilities of birth deformities.
Reminding that Government of India had been implementing various projects to extend benefit to the physically challenged persons in order to promote a healthy Nation, the MLA also lauded Padmashree Nabakishore's vision and endeavour to help the physically challenged persons.
Brajabidhu opined that every legislator should try to follow the footsteps of Nabakishore.
He also donated Rs 5000 to the programme host for utilisation in noble activities in the future.
