Imphal, November 25 2010:
Police in Churachandpur district today recovered two dead bodies including that of a woman who worked as a cashier in the Churachandpur DC's office.
The dead body of the woman cashier was found at the verandah of her government allotted quarters inside the DC office complex at Tuibong under Churachandpur police station early today.
She was identified as Thangmoi (47) wife of Asher Yangkhomang of Simuol village.
When the police retrieved the dead body they found a bluish mark as if it was hit by a blunt weapon on the back side of the head.
Police preliminary investigation report suggested that the woman was killed after being hit by a blunt weapon and was placed at the verandah probably by her husband.
They rounded up her husband for further investigation into the case.
The dead body has been transferred at RIMS morgue, Imphal for postmortem examination, reports said.
Police in the state district also retrieved dead body of a man from the bank of the Khuga river this morning at about 9.30 am.
The dead body has been identified as Leting Thangboi (30) son of Letlum of Geltam village.
According to family, he has been missing since November 21 .
