Joining the chorus against the Manipur Government's decision of "sheltering" the cadres of the proscribed KCP(Lallumba) in Chandel district, the United Naga Council (UNC) and the Kuki Inpi, Manipur (KIM) said today that they disapproved of the State Government's decision.
KIM and UNC, the apex social organisations of both the Kukis and the Nagas in Manipur respectively, informed NNN that they would extend their solidarity and support to the move of those tribal people of Chandel district who are against the stationing of "KCP surrenderees" at Leikun village.
UNC and KIM term the State Government's decision as "anti-hill people" .
"We will stand behind the people who are fighting for their rights to live in peace in Chandel district," pledged the UNC and KIM.
Meanwhile, normal activities have been disrupted along the Imphal-Moreh section of NH-39 following the 24-hour bandh called by Naga Students' Union, Chandel (NSUC) and Kuki Students' Organisation, Chandel district which started at 6 am of November 25 against the State Government's decision on the KCP issue.
No transporters could carry out their normal chores today.
However, there was no report of any untoward incident till the filing of this story.
The bandh will end at 6 am of November 26 .
