Amidst hue and cry of the family of a section officer of the minor irrigation department kidnapped by suspected PULF (MI-Khan) faction, two more persons including a woman Anganwadi worker have been taken into custody by suspected undergrounds.
The woman Anganwadi worker, Laishram Reena (27) wife of L Suresh, a resident of Thangmeiband, Imphal and currently residing at Wangkei Thangapat in Imphal east was kidnapped by two suspected women activists of a underground outfit on January 3 last.
The matter of kidnapping remain unnoticed until local womenfolk rose up and staged a sit-in protest at Wangkhei decrying the act of kidnapping of the housewife by suspected militants and demanding immediate and unconditional release of the housewife.
According to the mother of the missing housewife two women not known to them has taken away her daughter Reena on January 3 at about 2 pm.
Since the day her mobile phone remained switch off.
However, family believed a SMS received from an unknown number stating that she has not done any wrong was the kidnapped women.
The phone when contacted remained switch off again.
Around 100 womenfolk took part in the sit-in protest staged from around 10 am and went on till 4 pm.
Another person identified as Huidrom Ibochou, a businessman and a residence f Yumnam Huidrom under Wangoi police station of Imphal west district has also been abducted from his house last night.
Police is still clueless on the kidnapping of the person even though they suspected the kidnapping related with monetary demand of an underground group.
