Imphal, January 07 2010:
The Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of the All Manipur Trade Union Congress (AMTUC) and the All Manipur Government Employees Association (AMGEO), is not wholly satisfied with the state's decision to implement the recommendations of the 6th central pay commission without arrears.
The JAC has been demanding implementation of 6th central pay and other service benefits to the state Government employees since the last few years.
The JAC has conveyed a meeting to discuss the issue arising out of the cabinet decision on December 9 .
The cabinet meeting held on December 6 with chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh in the chair, resolved to implement this pay structure with effect from April 1 .
The cabinet, however, did not adopt any decision to give arrears and other service benefits to the around 60,000 employees of the State Government.
The JAC finance secretary K Tikendra said that they are yet to obtain the official dossiers of the Cabinet decision.
Since arrears and other service benefits are not recommended by the cabinet, the JAC's demands are not fully fulfilled.
The JAC submitted a memorandum to the State Government on January 2 urging to implement all its demands
by January 16 .
