The KNA/KNO, in collusion with the state government, cuts percentage out of the compensation money given to the affected villagers of Moreh Ward No.1 and Khunomphai village where the Integrated Check Post (ICP) would be constructed, alleged the chairman of ICP Moreh JAC, Semjathang Haokip.
Talking to media-persons yesterday evening, Semjathang Haokip said that the Central governmentdrew up the project of ICP in 2004 but was sanctioned only in February, 2010.The affected villagers had requested the Chief Minister of Manipur, the Chief Secretary and the DC, Chandel to distribute the amount of compensation at the United Bank of India (UBI), Imphal Branch.
However, the government did not neglected the villagers' request.
The DC Chandel had issued an order, and the compensation money was distributed at the UBI, Moreh Branch from April 20 onwards.
However, the KNA/KNO is cutting percentage from the compensation money in collusion with the state government, Semjathang Haokip said.
However, the Deputy Manager of UBI, Moreh Branch has reportedly been threatened time and again.
The villagers had urged the Chief General Manager, UBI, Silchar, DC Chandel, CID, SP, etc.
to adopcounter relationship between the KNA/KNO and the people.
The JAC of IPC has alleged that the government can stop the KNA/KNO from cutting percentage, but the government is not doing the needful.
