An unoccupied Maruti Van, parked under the BT Flyover near Shamu Makhong, gave some anxious moments to the police this evening.
Suspecting that the vehicle might have been planted with explosives, police cordoned off the normally busy section of the Khwairamband Keithel from about 5 pm before bomb experts unlocked the vehicle (AR06B/0160) and searched it thoroughly three hours later.

A vehicle document (RC book) bearing the name of one Mahesh Kumar Sood of Thangal bazar has been recovered from inside the abandoned Van.
Prior to unlocking the vehicle, police teams went around the market place to find its owner but to no avail.
