Imphal, August 06: Former CC Meet football tournament champion ESU, Wangkhei�s poor performance lingers when USA, Khurai scored a solitary goal win in the second leg of the MK Ghanendrajit Imphal East Super Division football league tournament at Thau ground today.

The loss means ESU failing to add points to its haul of six culled from the first phase.

The first leg contest between the two sides had ended on a 1-1 draw.

Brief lapse in concentration proved costly for the Wangkhei side as defender Gobin�s sloppy clearance off a Ninja Kabui shy at goal landed near Romio whose rasping drive from close range resulted in the only goal of the pulsating contest in the 45th minute.

The otherwise keenly contested match was marred by six players receiving the yellow card booking with four of them to be barred from playing the next match due to consecutive bookings.

ESU�s Ashok and K Ajitkumar who were among the booked players today will miss the August 9 face-off against current leader YWC, Thambalkhong.

Likewise Dhanachandra and RK Adharsh will also have to watch the next tie against Neroca on August 11 from the side-line.
