A Muniram scored the first hat-trick in the S Birendra Super Division Football League Tournament 2005 as Sagolband united opened its points account with a thumping 5-1 victory over SAI RC at Khuman lampak Main Stadium today.
In other league round matches, NACO, Nambul Mapal held TRAU, Tiddim Road to a 2-2 draw while SSU, Singjamei and MPSC split points following a listless draw.
Having lost both its previous matches and desperately needing a win to stay in the reckoning SU poured their ire on the SAI boys with the latter failing to keep the same momentum as in the first half after the change of ends.
Muniram began his scoring spree in the 10th minute and added more in the 51st, 64th (penalty) and 72nd minutes.
In between Thingoning Pheinao piled on the SAI RC misery with a 69th minute goal.
SAI�s consolation goal came through Inaotomba in the 27th.In the NACO versus TRAU game, the former took the lead in the opening minute itself with Seijalal Haokip as the scorer as Rollingson headed in the TRAU equaliser in the 19th.Sanatomba put TRAU ahead in the 32nd minute to take the break with the slender lead only to find team-mate Md Shabir Ali concede a penalty to the opponent 12 minute after the interval.
