Imphal, September 29: The Thoubal District Development and Demand Council has urged the Government and the PDA, Manipur to find an alternative site for construction of new Thoubal market complex, give top priority on quality and expedite the construction works of temporary market shed at Thoubal Mela ground.

In a statement the council urged the Govt to identify a new place for construction of the new market complex rather than carry out the construction at the same old Thoubal bazar.

It also alleged that the on-going construction of temporary market shed at Mela ground lacks quality control as the PDA had turned a blind eye giving free hand to contractors and private parties.

It warned of submitting memoranda to the Prime Minister and Ministry concerned if the State Government do not comply to the Council�s demands within October 20.
