To address the long felt need to streamline and update the land records by different revenue officers/offices the State Government has decided to introduce a system of verifying and monitoring the land records by a Circle Level Committees of officers.
A notification to this effect was issued today by the Revenue Department.
The Circle Level Committee of Officers will include the SDO concerned (SDO may nominate one SDC in exigencies of work), SDC concerned, Assistant Survey and Settlement Officer concerned and nominee of Director of Settlement an Land Records (not below the rank of SK), said the order.
The main objectives of the Committee will include inspection, verifying and monitoring maintenance and updating of land records, advise and assist the revenue officers concerned in maintaining and updating land records in the desired manner and efficiently and to verify the existing records and report errors and deficiencies, if any, to the Government for consideration.
The Committee will also suggest measures to enhance efficiency and quality of maintenance and updating of land records, added the notice.
