Imphal, December 08: Taking strong exception on the decision of the State Government concerning the service continuation of additional chief engineer IFC Department, S Devendra as additional chief engineer in-charge of Dolaithabi Barrage Project on contract basis, has strongly urged the government to review the decision and make positive steps to appoint one of the senior and competent superintending engineers to the post rather then a retired service man.

In a statement issued by the Manipur Irrigation Engineering Service Association, it decried the decision of the State as unjustified and uncalled for as according to a resolution of the Association adopted in an emergency meeting held on December 3.
