A device called 'Rapid Test' to detect prevalence and infection of HIV/AIDS among dwellers of the vulnerable border was inaugurated at Moreh Hospital today by the deputy Director of MACS Dr Kh Pramod Singh.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Pramod said considering Moreh's close affinity to the international border and the trade town highly susceptible to spread the deadly disease the device had been installed.
Such devices are provided only at district headquarters, he added addressing the gathering at Voluntary Confidential Counselling and Testing Centre, Moreh.
He also prevailed upon the Centre's staff/counsellors to conduct tests only with consent of the patient.
The programme organised by Community Care Centre was held with Manipur NGO Forum's advisor N Saratchandra Singh as president with 24 AR CO Col KS Kadian, ADC i/c Ph Ibohal and YTT president M Kondum as guests of honour.
