Imphal, December 08: 'Vijay Shree Award' (Certificate of Excellence) has been awarded to deputy director of research, Central Agricultural University, Dr Phurailatpam Ranjit by India International Friendship Society, New Delhi for his 'meritorious services, outstanding performance and remarkable role' on November 28 at New Delhi, said a press release issued by Sagolband United.

A warm reception ceremony was organised in honour of the awardee and executive member of SU on Dec 5, it added.

Author honoured: Thokchom Ibohanbi of Singjamei Chongtham Leikai has been honoured with 'Seram Mukta Award' for his adventure story Banga Bandhugi Leibakta by the Manipuri Literary Society today at MDU hall as a part of the Society's 21st anniversary.

The award includes a cash prize of Rs 5000, a shawl and a citation.
