Imphal, December 08: A member of the Kadangban Gram Panchayat under Lamsang PS identified as Maibam Kanhai (37) of Haorang Keirel was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at around midnight yesterday at Shambei Khun, Wakanthong about 7 kms North East of Heingang PS.

The body was retrieved by Heingang police and later deposited at RIMS mortuary for post mortem.

No organisation has claimed responsibility for the killing.

Meanwhile the youth found dead at Saiton road under Moirang PS yesterday morning has been identified as Konsam Roman alias Somen (18) of Kumbi Setupur.
