Imphal, November 10: Intensifying counter insurgency operation, Imphal East District Police have arrested three activists belonging to the proscribed KCP outfits from different parts of the district today.

According to Imphal East SP L Kailun, the activist identified as Sapam Ingobi alias Surjit alias Koto alias Bothe (38) s/o of late S Bidhu Singh of Soibam Leikai was arrested from Lamlong Bazar during a cordon and search operation launched in the area based on a specific information at around 7 am today.

On preliminary interrogation, Ingobi disclosed that he joined the outfit in July 2005 through one self styled sergeant Ningthou of Ukhongshang village.

In the follow up action, another activist identified as Wahengbam Inao alias Nanao alias Somorendro (34) s/o late W Angou Singh of Wangkhei Khunou was apprehended.

Inao joined KCP in August 2005 through Ingobi.

The police team also apprehended one more KCP activist during a cordon and search operation conducted at Maninglou Moirang Kampu area at around 7.45 am today.

The arrested activist has been identified as Nongthombam Brojen alias Iboton (24) s/o N Nabadwip Singh of Khurai Thoudam Leikai.
