Imphal, November 10: Special task force of the Kuki Liberation Army (KLA)'s Unit-I apprehended a KLA impostor identified as Thangminlal Hansing s/o Kamkholen of Gallam Saikul village yesterday afternoon.

A KLA statement informed of Thangminlal being caught by the task force members while the former was trying to extort money at an Imphal West area.

Claiming that Thangminlal had confessed to his misconduct and of already extracting Rs 8000 from the same source some days back, KLA informed of the impostor revealing identities of other gang members.

Taking into account Thangminlal's cooperation to the STF, appeal for clemency from the family and on humanitarian ground the captive might be released with a 'lighter' punishment, it said.
