Imphal, November 10: Imphal East District Police have arrested a man for assaulting two students of CC Higher Secondary School who quarreled with his son studying in the same school.

The incident occurred during the recess time of the school at around 1.10 pm today.

According to information received by the press, Waikhom Baggio (14), a student of class IX quarreled with two other students studying in class XI, identified as M Robinson (16) and Akoijam Boris.

Baggio reported the matter to his father Sunachand (45) who came to the school immediately and assaulted the two students near the school gate.

The incensed father allegedly snatched a cane stick which was being carried by a passer at the opportune time and hit the two students on their heads.

Both the students sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospitals for treatment.

The condition of Robinson, who is undergoing treatment at RIMS is reported to be critical while that of Boris who has been admitted to JN Hospital is out of danger.

Following the incident, the academic atmosphere of the school was disturbed and rest of the classes were called off today.
