Kohima, December 20: Reminding that dry season spell results in acute shortage of drinking water the Imphal East district's Deputy Commissioner KK Chhetry in a statement called upon the people to keep water sources in a hygienic manner.

In addition to protecting the water bodies it is equally important to ensure cleanliness of neighbouring areas, said the DC while conveying of PHED authorities's endeavour to provide bleaching powder, alum, lime etc to improve water quality in the district.
